Purpose of This Role As an engineer in Product Tech, you are at the heart of the customers digital transformation. You build, integrate, and improve solutions that are used across real products and real teams — not prototypes that sit on a shelf. Product Tech bridges the gap between what Common Tech builds and how it is used in practice. You bring Polaris building blocks into real Frontrunner engagements, shape them to fit the context, and help evolve them based on what you learn. You do this in close, continuous collaboration with Business Unit teams — working with them, not for them. What You Work On You operate across three types of work: 1. Strategic digitalization initiatives bringing 2. Polaris building blocks into real Frontrunner engagements, shaping and evolving them in practice. 3. Forward Deployed engagements 4. working hands-on to implement, operationalize, and build cap[a]bility in the BU"s product environment. 5. Common Components, building, evolving, and scaling shared product components, the design system, and modular architecture assets that are used. All are carried out in close, continuous collaboration with Business Unit teams. You are not delivering to the BU — you are working with them. Core Responsibilities Systems Engineer - Design and evolve shared software platforms used across Saab - Analyse system behaviour, performance, and interactions - Improve the surrounding technical system as needed — including tooling, delivery flow, and system-level engineering practices - Work with technologies like AI, cloud, distributed systems, and real-time environments. - Turn system-level insights into practical improvements - Collaborate with architects, developers, and domain experts across CT and BUs - Contribute to long-term technical direction and platform strategy How You Work - **Collaborate** — you work closely with your team, your Tech Lead, and the BU team.
